Among the activities that Dharmaland will offer are yoga and meditation. Yoga is a great activity for those with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease. It improves strength, flexibility and mind-body awareness. It can also improve respiration, energy and vitality, as well as help with weight reduction and improve cardio and circulatory health. Meditation is a valuable tool to reduce stress, control anxiety, promote emotional health, enhance self-awareness and increase attention span. It may reduce age-related memory loss, it can generate kindness and may help fight addictions. Meditation can also improve sleep, help control pain and can decrease blood pressure.
To offer these life-affirming and health-giving activities is a way to improve the quality of our lives which in turn
leads to less illness and disease and so, less burden on the health system which results in a happier,
healthier community. By helping people to make a positive impact on their own health and wellbeing,
